Day 2 Beijing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Qianmen Street

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your private guide meets you at your hotel and your driver takes you directly into the city center. Everything is arranged in advance, so you don't need to think about tickets, routes, or timing—you simply step into the day and let us handle the rest.

You start at Tiananmen Square, where the sheer scale of the space immediately changes your sense of Beijing. It feels open, steady, and calm in a way that contrasts with the city's modern energy. From there, you walk into the Forbidden City, and the atmosphere gradually shifts. The noise disappears step by step as you move through each gate, deeper into courtyards that once held the center of imperial power. Your guide doesn't overload you with facts—instead, you hear stories that make the architecture feel alive, like the walls still remember what happened here.

Around midday, we pause for lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant near the historical district. This is not a rushed stop or tourist canteen. You sit down and experience classic Beijing flavors in a relaxed setting, with dishes that may include traditional favorites like Peking duck or home-style northern Chinese specialties, depending on your preference. It's a good moment to slow down, warm up, and let the morning impressions settle before continuing the journey.

After lunch, you head to Jingshan Park, just across from the Forbidden City. The short climb is easy, but the reward is striking—the entire palace complex opens up in front of you, layered in symmetry and history, stretching across the center of the city. From here, Beijing feels both vast and carefully designed at the same time.

In the afternoon, the mood shifts again as you arrive at Qianmen Street. The imperial silence gives way to a more lived-in rhythm—old storefronts, local snacks, and lantern-lined streets that feel more grounded and playful. It's a natural transition from history into everyday life, showing you how Beijing moves between its past and present without ever fully leaving either behind. At the end of the day, your driver takes you comfortably back to your hotel, so you can simply relax after a full but unhurried exploration of the city.

Day 3 Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall with round-trip cable car, water cube & Bird's Nest from outside

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today your private driver picks you up from your hotel in the morning, and we leave the city behind for a smooth ride toward the mountains. No group, no waiting—just a comfortable start as Beijing slowly fades into forested hills and open sky.

We head to Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most beautiful and relaxed sections of the Great Wall. With round-trip cable car already arranged, you can enjoy the view without the effort of a long climb. Once on the wall, you'll have time to walk, take photos, or simply stand and take in the scale of this ancient structure stretching across the mountains.

For lunch, we arrange a local restaurant near the site serving warm, simple Chinese dishes—perfect after a morning in the cold air. It's a sit-down meal designed to help you rest and recharge before heading back.

On the way back to Beijing, we make a light stop to view the exterior of Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and Beijing National Aquatics Center (Water Cube), two of the city's most recognizable Olympic landmarks. You'll have time for photos before we continue back.

By evening, your driver takes you back to the hotel. A simple, well-paced day that moves from ancient mountains to modern icons—without ever feeling rushed.

Day 4 Beijing: Temple of heaven, Summer Palace, Beijing hutongs with rickshaw ride

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today we slow things down a bit and show you a more "livable" side of Beijing—where history isn't only in museums, but still quietly exists in daily life.

In the morning, your private driver picks you up from the hotel and we start at Temple of Heaven. This is where emperors once prayed for good harvests, but today it feels more like a public living room for locals. You'll see people practicing tai chi, playing music, or just enjoying the open space under ancient trees. It's peaceful, but never boring.

From there, we continue to Summer Palace, a place where lakes, bridges, and pavilions stretch across a vast imperial garden. It feels less like a "site to visit" and more like a place to wander slowly—especially along the lakeside, where the scenery changes with every step and every turn of the corridor.

For lunch, we arrange a comfortable local restaurant near the route, serving warm, freshly prepared Chinese dishes. It's a relaxed sit-down meal with simple home-style flavors, giving you time to rest before the afternoon continues.

In the afternoon, we head into Beijing's old hutong neighborhoods, where narrow alleys and courtyard homes still shape daily life. Here you'll take a rickshaw ride through the lanes, moving past small shops, local houses, and everyday street scenes that feel much closer to "old Beijing" than anything you see in guidebooks.

By evening, your driver takes you back to the hotel. It's a day that moves from grand imperial gardens to quiet local streets—showing you both the scale and the soul of Beijing, without ever feeling rushed.

Day 5 Beijing: Beijing Zoo, take train to Erdaobaihe Town, Transfer to the hotel for check in

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your private driver is already waiting in the hotel lobby, ready to handle your luggage and take you comfortably to start the day. Everything is arranged in advance, so you simply check out and step into the car without any rush or confusion.

We begin with a light and easy stop at Beijing Zoo, a relaxed morning visit that works especially well before a longer travel day. It's unhurried, simple, and gives you a gentle start before the scenery changes completely.

From there, we head to the train station and board a train toward Erdaobaihe Town, the gateway to Changbai Mountain. As Beijing gradually disappears behind the window, the landscape slowly shifts into forests, rivers, and open winter plains. This is the point where the journey really changes character—from city highlights to true snow country atmosphere.

Upon arrival, our local driver will be waiting at the station and will transfer you directly to your hotel for check-in. The pace slows down here immediately: quieter streets, colder air, and a small mountain town surrounded by winter wilderness.

By the evening, you've already reached the edge of Northeast China's snow region. No complicated arrangements—just a smooth travel day that connects two completely different worlds in one continuous journey.

Day 6 Changbai Mountain: hangbai Mountain Heavenly Lake (Tianchi), Changbai Waterfall, Bixiaotan (Green Deep Pool), Underground Forest

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your local driver meets you at the hotel lobby and takes you straight toward Changbai Mountain. From here on, the scenery gets serious—roads get quieter, forests get denser, and the air feels like it has officially switched to "deep winter mode."

We first head up to the legendary Heavenly Lake (Tianchi). This is the highlight of Changbai Mountain, a volcanic crater lake sitting high on the mountain top. In winter, it often becomes a vast white frozen surface surrounded by sharp mountain ridges, creating a scene that feels more like a painting than a real place. The journey up itself is part of the experience, and the moment you arrive, everything goes quiet in a very natural way.

After descending, we continue to Changbai Waterfall, where steaming water meets freezing air, creating a dramatic contrast of ice and motion. Nearby, we also visit Green Deep Pool (Bixiaotan), a quiet emerald-colored basin that feels almost hidden inside the forest, followed by the Underground Forest, where snow-covered trees and soft trails create a completely different kind of winter atmosphere—less dramatic, more immersive.

Throughout the day, everything moves at a comfortable pace with time for walking, photos, and short breaks. No rushing, no complicated transfers—just a well-paced exploration of Changbai's natural highlights in winter conditions.

By the time you return to your hotel in Erdaobaihe, the temperature has dropped again, the streets are quieter, and you'll feel like you've stepped fully into Northeast China's snow world. Today is less about "checking attractions" and more about experiencing what real northern winter feels like when it's untouched and alive.

Day 7 Erdaobaihe → Dunhua/Jingpo Lake: Erdaobaihe Winter Rafting, Transfer to Dunhua or Jingpo Lake area

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After breakfast, your driver is already waiting at the hotel lobby to help with luggage and set off smoothly. No rush, no complicated schedule—just an easy departure from Erdaobaihe as we begin the next stretch of Northeast China's winter route.

The morning starts with a signature experience: winter rafting in Erdaobaihe. Floating along the river, you'll see ice forming along the edges while warm steam rises from the water, creating a surreal contrast of movement and stillness. It's cold, yes—but in a very cinematic way, not a difficult one.

After the activity, we continue by private transfer toward Jingpo Lake. The road gradually shifts from mountain forest scenery into a more open, expansive landscape. This part of the journey feels less like moving between attractions and more like crossing into a quieter region of winter China.

By the time we arrive near Jingpo Lake, the pace slows down completely. Check-in is smooth and the rest of the day is intentionally kept light. You can rest, take a short walk outside, or simply enjoy the stillness of the lake region in winter.

Tonight is not about sightseeing intensity. It's about settling into the rhythm of frozen lakes, quiet roads, and the feeling that the journey is slowly approaching its most magical stretch.

Day 8 Jingpo Lake → Snow Town: Ice Falls, Frozen Cliffs & the First Fairytale Village

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Early in the morning, your driver is already waiting outside the hotel. The air is crisp, the surroundings are quiet, and the day begins with that unmistakable Northeast China winter feeling—cold, clear, and strangely exciting, because today we're heading toward one of the most magical places on the entire route.

We start with Jingpo Lake, where winter transforms everything into a frozen masterpiece. The lake stretches wide and silent, with ice textures shifting under the soft morning light. Nearby, we also visit the famous ice waterfall and Diaoshuilou Waterfall cliff area, where water and ice coexist in a dramatic frozen scene—part flowing, part solid, all at once.

From there, we continue deeper into the region, passing through landscapes that gradually become more remote and snow-covered. This is where the journey starts feeling like it's moving inside a winter film set rather than a map.

By afternoon, we arrive at China Snow Town (Xuexiang). The moment you step in, everything changes. Snow piles up on rooftops like soft blankets, wooden houses glow warmly against the white surroundings, and every street corner feels intentionally "storybook-perfect." You'll explore Snow Street, Dream Home, and the viewing platform, where the entire village looks like it was designed for winter postcards.

Tonight, Snow Town shows its real character. Lights come on, snow reflects a soft glow, and the whole village becomes quiet but alive in its own way. It's not just a stop—it's one of the emotional highlights of the entire journey.

Day 9 Snow Town → Harbin: Yangcao Mountain Sunrise (Optional), Transfer to Harbin (Optional Skiing)

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Before the village fully wakes up, some of the most memorable moments in Snow Town happen quietly. Early in the morning, your driver is ready outside your hotel, and for those who are willing to brave the cold, we head up to Yangcao Mountain for sunrise. The light slowly spreads over the snow-covered rooftops, and the whole village below looks like it's still sleeping under a white blanket.

After this sunrise experience, we begin the journey toward Harbin. Along the way, there's also an optional stop at Yabuli Ski Resort, one of China's most well-known ski areas. If you want, this is your chance to switch roles for a few hours—from "snow viewer" to "snow player"—whether it's skiing, taking a lesson, or just enjoying the atmosphere before continuing the drive.

As we leave the mountain region behind, the scenery gradually shifts again. Snowfields open up, then slowly give way to more urban surroundings as we approach Harbin. By the time we arrive in the city, it feels like stepping into a completely different winter world—more structured, more architectural, but still fully frozen.

In the evening, you check into your hotel and finally get a chance to slow down. After days of snow villages, frozen lakes, and mountain roads, Harbin feels like the "bright city chapter" of your winter journey is about to begin.

Day 10 Harbin: Siberian Tiger Park, Saint Sophia Cathedral, Central Street, Harbin Ice and Snow World

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After meeting your driver in the morning, we begin the day exploring the city's most iconic winter highlights.

We first head to Siberian Tiger Park, where you'll see one of the world's most powerful winter predators in a semi-natural snowy environment. It's not a zoo in the usual sense—it feels more like stepping into their territory, where the snow and silence belong equally to the animals.

Next, we continue into the city's historical heart with a stop at Saint Sophia Cathedral, a striking landmark with its green dome and deep architectural character. Just a short drive away, Central Street brings a completely different atmosphere—European-style buildings, stone-paved roads, street snacks, and winter life all blending into one long walking corridor.

For the evening, we take you into one of Harbin's most famous winter highlights—Harbin Ice and Snow World. This is where the city turns into a glowing ice universe. Massive ice castles, illuminated sculptures, and frozen structures create a landscape that feels almost unreal, especially after sunset when everything lights up in color and reflection.

By the time you return to the hotel, Harbin feels less like a destination and more like a winter dream you've briefly stepped inside.

Day 11 Harbin: Volga Manor, Old Daowai Chinese Baroque Historic District

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today we slow the pace a little and explore Harbin's more cultural and architectural side—less "big winter spectacle," more atmosphere, texture, and stories hidden in buildings.

After meeting your driver in the morning, we head out of the city center to Volga Manor. This is a Russian-style estate surrounded by snow-covered forests, churches, and wooden architecture that feels completely different from typical Chinese city landscapes. In winter, everything turns quiet and white, and the buildings look like they've been placed carefully into a snow globe.

After lunch, we return to the city and visit the Old Daowai Chinese Baroque Historic District. This area has a very different personality—narrow streets, restored Baroque-style buildings, and a mix of Chinese and Western influences that reflect Harbin's unique history. It's less polished than Central Street, but that's exactly where its charm comes from.

By the time we return to the hotel in the evening, the day feels like a quiet contrast to yesterday's Ice and Snow World—more cultural, more reflective, but still deeply connected to Harbin's winter identity.

Day 12 Harbin: Today is free & easy until our driver transfer you to the train station, transfer to your Beijing hotel for check in

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After several days deep in snow country, today feels like a gentle transition rather than a sightseeing day. In the morning, your driver meets you at the hotel and assists with check-out and transfer to the station, making sure everything runs smoothly and without any rush.

You take the train back toward Beijing, and as the landscape slowly changes outside the window, the snowfields begin to fade into more familiar city edges. It's a long but comfortable ride—perfect for resting, scrolling through photos, or simply letting the past few days settle in your mind.

Upon arrival in Beijing, your private driver will be waiting and take you directly to your hotel for check-in. The city feels noticeably different now—warmer, busier, and more familiar compared to the quiet frozen landscapes you just came from.

The rest of the evening is completely free. No schedule, no arrangements—just time to relax, recover, and enjoy being back in the capital after an unforgettable winter journey through Northeast China.

Day 13 Beijing: Free & Easy for shopping

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

After days of snow towns, frozen lakes, and ice-covered landscapes, today is your chance to slow everything down and enjoy Beijing at your own rhythm.

You wake up in the city with no fixed schedule and no rushing plan. Your driver remains available if you need any transfers, but today is designed to be completely flexible—this is your time to reset, explore, or simply do nothing at all if that feels right.

You can head out for shopping, pick up souvenirs, or walk through different districts of Beijing at your own pace. The contrast is quite noticeable now—after Northeast China's silence and snow, Beijing feels more energetic, modern, and layered, especially in its streets, cafés, and shopping areas.

By the end of the day, you return to your hotel whenever you choose. It's a quiet buffer day between an intense winter journey and your final departure, giving you space to rest, reflect, and enjoy the city without any schedule pressure.

Day 14 Beijing: Free & Easy until our driver transfer you to the airport

Accommodation Accommodation:
N/A (Flexible, can be included based on your needs)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Your final day in Beijing starts without any pressure or fixed schedule. You have a free morning to enjoy at your own pace—sleep in a little longer, take a quiet walk nearby, do some last-minute shopping, or simply stay in the hotel and relax before your departure.

When it's time, your driver will arrive at the hotel to assist with luggage and ensure a smooth, private transfer to the airport. Everything is pre-arranged, so you don't need to worry about timing or logistics—just enjoy a calm, easy exit from the city. As you drive through Beijing one last time, the journey gently comes to a close, from imperial landmarks and winter snow worlds back to the rhythm of modern city life.

Excellent service and a stress-free family trip from start to finish

This 11-day private tour through Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou was one of the most enjoyable family trips we have ever taken. What really stood out for us was the service from start to finish. Jennifer was our main contact from Buer China Travel and she was absolutely fantastic. She responded quickly to every message, patiently adjusted the itinerary multiple times based on our preferences, and always made us feel like everything was under control. It really gave us peace of mind before even arriving in China. During the trip, everything ran smoothly. There were no stressful moments at all. Our guide was extremely kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. She had a wonderful way of explaining the history behind each site without making it feel like a lecture, and she was especially good with our children, which made a huge difference for our family. We also appreciated how flexible the itinerary was. We never felt rushed, and we had enough time to truly enjoy each destination, whether it was walking along West Lake in Hangzhou or exploring the classical gardens in Suzhou. Overall, this was a very well-organized and thoughtfully designed trip. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting China for the first time.
