Housing a massive collection of precious cultural relics, ancient artifacts, traditional costumes and historical documents, the museum systematically records the plateau's geological evolution, ancient human activities, folk customs, religious development and modern changes of Xizang. With detailed graphic displays and professional guide explanations, you can sort out the complete historical context of Tibetan civilization, lay a solid cultural foundation for subsequent religious and scenic visits, and gain a comprehensive and intuitive understanding of the unique plateau regional culture.

Continue your relaxed sightseeing to Norbulingka Park, famously known as the Summer Palace of Xizang and the only large-scale classical royal garden on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Serving as the exclusive summer resort for successive Tibetan religious leaders, this well-preserved ancient garden perfectly blends traditional Tibetan architectural aesthetics, delicate courtyard layouts and lush natural vegetation. Unlike the grand and solemn style of the Potala Palace, Norbulingka features fresh and elegant scenery, with verdant woods, tranquil lake pools, exquisite pavilions and winding corridors. Stroll through the quiet garden, breathe the fresh plateau air, and experience the leisurely royal holiday lifestyle of ancient Xizang, enjoying a peaceful and healing leisure time away from the crowded scenic spots.

In the afternoon, visit the prestigious Sera Monastery, one of the three major Gelugpa monasteries in Lhasa and a world-famous Buddhist cultural resort. Renowned for its unique live scripture debating ceremony, this ancient monastery retains the most authentic and lively Buddhist inheritance scene. Every afternoon, local lamas gather in the monastery's debating courtyard to carry out professional Buddhist scripture debates, with vivid gestures, solemn dialogues and unique ritual forms. This intangible cultural heritage performance is exclusive to Lhasa, allowing you to witness the rigorous and lively inheritance of Tibetan Buddhism intuitively and feel the profound and inclusive charm of plateau religious culture.

Optional Activity: If your schedule permits, do not miss the grand outdoor live drama Princess Wencheng, the top iconic cultural performance in Lhasa. Running annually from late April to early October, the show officially stages from 21:30 to 23:00. With the real snow-capped plateau mountains as the natural backdrop, grand stage scenes, magnificent costume choreography and touching historical plot, the drama perfectly reproduces the eternal friendship and cultural integration between the Tang Dynasty and ancient Tibet, bringing an immersive, shocking and unforgettable audio-visual feast.

Travel Tip: All religious venues in Lhasa are sacred local holy lands. Please keep your voice low and maintain quietness during the entire sightseeing process, avoid loud talking, running and inappropriate behaviors, and respect local religious beliefs and traditional customs to maintain the solemn atmosphere of Buddhist sites.

Day 15: Shannan|Yamdrok Lake, Karola Glacier & Palcho Monastery

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today's Shannan itinerary features a perfect combination of stunning high-altitude natural wonders and time-honored religious relics. Follow a smooth sightseeing route from iconic holy lake scenery to magnificent glacier landforms and ancient sacred temples, experiencing the diverse and breathtaking charm of Xizang's plateau landscapes and profound Buddhist culture.

Start your day's exploration at Yamdrok Lake, one of Xizang's three most renowned sacred lakes and a top-tier plateau scenic masterpiece. Praised as the "Sapphire of the Plateau", this vast alpine lake boasts pure, crystal-clear sapphire-blue water that changes shades with sunlight and cloud shadows, creating a dreamy and layered visual effect. Stretching endlessly across the high-altitude basin, the lake is surrounded by rolling lush grasslands, winding shorelines and distant snow-capped mountain ranges, forming a panoramic natural landscape of lakes, grasslands, mountains and sky. Far away from urban noise, the entire scenic area presents a pure, healing and grand plateau atmosphere. You can stroll along the lakeside viewing platforms, capture stunning postcard-worthy landscape photos, and fully immerse yourself in the tranquil and sacred natural charm of this holy lake.

Continue your plateau journey to the spectacular Karola Glacier, one of the most accessible and well-preserved modern glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Towering ice walls stand tall at high altitude, covered with pure white snow and layered ice textures formed over thousands of years. The magnificent glacier landscape contrasts sharply with the blue sky and white clouds, showcasing the shocking grandeur and primitive wildness of high-altitude glacial landforms. Unlike distant snow-capped peaks, Karola Glacier allows you to get up close to admire the crystal clear ice bodies and feel the cool, pure plateau air, offering an immersive and rare glacier viewing experience that is hard to encounter in ordinary travel routes.

Conclude today's tour at the ancient Palcho Monastery, a time-honored treasure of Tibetan Buddhist architecture with a unique integration of Tibetan, Han and Nepalese architectural styles. Boasting a history of over 600 years, this quiet and solemn ancient temple is famous for its exquisite layout, intact ancient halls and the iconic multi-layered Buddha Pagoda. Different from the grand cluster style of Lhasa's major monasteries, Palcho Monastery features delicate and diverse architectural details, well-preserved ancient murals and precious religious relics, exuding a strong and solemn religious atmosphere. Wander through the quiet temple courtyards, listen to professional explanations of its unique architectural culture and Buddhist heritage, and experience the low-key and profound religious charm of Shannan's ancient temples.

Practical Travel Tip: The plateau region features a large temperature difference between day and night. Even on sunny and warm daytime, the temperature drops sharply in the evening and at high-altitude scenic spots. It is recommended to carry a light jacket or outerwear with you throughout the tour to keep warm and avoid colds.

Day 16: Shigatse|Gyatsola Pass, Gawula Pass & Everest Base Camp

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today marks the absolute highlight of your 20-day cross-China journey — an immersive in-depth adventure to the legendary Mount Everest. Follow a progressive highland driving route across iconic alpine passes, witnessing layered snow-capped mountain scenery step by step, before finally reaching the world-famous Everest Base Camp. This well-structured itinerary presents a stunning visual feast of the Himalayan range, bringing you close to the world's supreme peak.

Start your Everest journey by crossing the famous Gyatsola Pass, a vital high-altitude mountain pass on the route to Mount Everest. Perched at a staggering altitude, this open viewing platform boasts a vast and unobstructed vision. Surrounded by rolling undulating plateau terrains and endless snow-dusted mountain ranges, you can overlook layers of continuous Himalayan mountain veins stretching infinitely to the horizon. The pure blue sky, floating white clouds and primitive alpine wilderness blend perfectly here, presenting the grand, desolate and pure beauty of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It serves as a perfect preface for your upcoming extreme snow mountain scenery, allowing you to gradually immerse yourself in the sacred high-altitude atmosphere.

Continue your upward drive to the stunning Gawula Pass, the most classic panoramic viewing spot on the Everest route and a must-stop photography holy land. This exclusive pass offers a rare breathtaking view of five major 8,000-meter-level snow-capped peaks lining up simultaneously, including the majestic Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and other world-famous supreme peaks. Standing here, you can witness the continuous snow-capped skyline stretching across the entire field of vision, with towering icy peaks piercing the blue sky. The layered and magnificent mountain group scenery is extremely shocking and rarely seen in ordinary travel routes, creating a once-in-a-lifetime panoramic snow mountain spectacle for landscape lovers and photography enthusiasts.Conclude today's exploration at the iconic Everest Base Camp, the closest and safest official viewing spot for ordinary tourists to approach Mount Everest, the world's highest peak at 8,848.86 meters. Away from the noisy urban world, this pure snowfield holy land retains the most primitive and sacred plateau scenery. Standing at the foot of Everest, you can clearly admire the complete and grand outline of the supreme peak, the snow-covered summit shining brightly under the sunlight, and the vast surrounding snow wilderness stretching endlessly. Feel the unparalleled solemnity, grandeur and spiritual power of the world's top mountain. Capture precious close-up photos of Mount Everest, record this milestone travel moment, and leave unforgettable lifelong memories of exploring the top of the world.

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Start your day with the most anticipated visual feast of the Everest journey — witnessing the stunning Everest Sunrise & Golden Mountain View. Greet the dawn at the Everest Base Camp to watch the world's highest peak slowly wake up from the night's tranquility. As the first ray of golden morning sunlight gently sweeps over the snow-capped summit, the pure white icy peak is dyed with brilliant, warm golden glow, forming the breathtaking "Golden Mount Everest" spectacle. The layered golden snow mountain, pale blue sky and distant rolling plateau ridges create a dreamy and sacred scene, offering an extremely shocking and unforgettable visual experience. After fully enjoying the exclusive sunrise scenery and capturing precious milestone photos, you will leisurely depart from Everest and head back to Shigatse urban area for sufficient altitude adaptation and physical rest. Free from tight travel schedules, you can soak in the quiet and vast plateau atmosphere of Shigatse, stroll the local urban streets, taste authentic Tibetan local meals, experience the simple and honest local customs, and fully recharge your body and mind for the subsequent cultural exploration of Shigatse.

Travel Tips:
1. The spectacular Everest sunrise usually occurs between 6:30 am to 7:00 am, so please get up early in advance to reserve the best viewing spots and avoid missing the fleeting golden mountain scenery.
2. The plateau dawn is extremely cold with strong wind chill. Please keep warm thoroughly by wearing enough layered clothing, hats and gloves throughout the sunrise viewing process to prevent colds and altitude discomfort.

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today's Shigatse itinerary focuses on profound Tibetan Buddhist culture, centering on the most prestigious sacred temple in the region for an in-depth religious and historical exploration before heading back to Lhasa.

Explore the world-famous Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six major Gelugpa Buddhist monasteries in Xizang and the supreme sacred religious landmark of Shigatse, boasting over 600 years of profound historical and cultural heritage. Nestled against gentle mountain slopes and surrounded by lush greenery, this grand monastic complex features stunning traditional Tibetan architecture, including towering golden glazed roofs, striking red and white outer walls, and orderly arranged ancient halls and scripture chambers, exuding a solemn, dignified and sacred religious atmosphere. As the core inheritance base of Tibetan Buddhism, the monastery houses countless invaluable cultural treasures, including towering giant gilded Buddha statues, well-preserved ancient Buddhist scriptures, and delicate and vivid classical murals that record ancient religious stories and plateau artistic aesthetics. Accompanied by a professional guide, wander through the quiet core halls, appreciate the unparalleled religious art treasures up close, and learn about the monastery's long historical inheritance and profound Buddhist culture, gaining a more comprehensive and three-dimensional understanding of local Tibetan religious customs.

After finishing the in-depth sightseeing of Tashilhunpo Monastery, you will take a private vehicle to return to Lhasa. The whole journey covers a plateau highway route of about 5 hours, with smooth road conditions, allowing you to enjoy the endless pastoral and mountain scenery of Shigatse along the way, and slowly adjust your physical state for the subsequent trip arrangements.

Day 19: Lhasa|Namtso Lake Day Trip

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Today's full-day exclusive excursion departs from Lhasa to Namtso Lake, with a smooth round-trip plateau highway journey taking approximately 4.5 to 5 hours in total. Enjoy a comfortable ride through the vast northern Xizang plateau landscape before arriving at this stunning scenic spot. Ranked among Xizang's three great sacred lakes, Namtso is widely known as the breathtaking "Heavenly Lake" of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a world-class high-altitude natural wonder with unrivaled primitive beauty. Sitting at an altitude of over 5,000 meters, this pristine lake is free from over-commercialization, retaining its pure, untouched plateau wilderness scenery. It features mesmerizing translucent turquoise lake water that perfectly merges with the bright blue sky and floating white clouds, endless lush alpine grasslands stretching to the horizon, leisurely wandering flocks of cattle and sheep, and distant rolling snow-capped mountain ranges forming a majestic natural backdrop. Every angle presents a picture-perfect natural masterpiece. As one of the highest-altitude sacred lakes on the planet, Namtso boasts a unique desolate, grand and healing plateau charm, completely different from ordinary low-altitude lake and forest landscapes. You can stroll gently along the quiet lakeshore, shoot stunning panoramic photos of the integrated sky, lake, grassland and snow mountain scenery, fully immerse yourself in the pure, sacred and powerful aura of the high-altitude wilderness, and enjoy ultimate spiritual relaxation brought by the pristine plateau nature, before heading back to Lhasa at the end of the day.

Travel Tips
1. Namtso Lake is located in a high-altitude area of over 5,000 meters. The thin air may easily cause altitude discomfort such as dizziness, shortness of breath and fatigue. Please inform your tour guide immediately if you feel unwell during the visit for timely professional assistance.
2. The plateau weather here is extremely changeable with sudden wind, cloud and temperature shifts throughout the day. Please prepare and wear thick warm clothing in advance to adapt to the unpredictable weather and avoid colds.

Day 20: Lhasa Departure

Accommodation Accommodation:
4 star/5 star hotel/botique hotel (can be customized)
MealMeal:
Meals are flexible and can be included or excluded. When included, authentic local dining will be arranged.

Conclude your 20-day extraordinary cross-China journey on the final day. Enjoy ample free leisure time to savor your last moments in the holy plateau city, sort out precious travel memories, and hunt for authentic local souvenirs. Recommended Local Authentic Streets & Commercial Blocks: Skip the overly commercial tourist spots and explore local-favorite neighborhoods for genuine Xizang vibes. Wander around Chongsai Kang Market & Xiaozhaosi Road Block, a bustling old downtown gathering favored by local Tibetans all year round. This down-to-earth block features countless family-run stores, traditional Tibetan grocery shops, handicraft stalls and local snack counters, where you can buy authentic low-priced Tibetan specialties, handmade silver ornaments, pure natural Tibetan incense and traditional daily necessities, far more original and cost-effective than tourist-oriented shops.

Taste classic local treats including rich butter tea, authentic Tibetan noodles and sweet yogurt, immerse yourself in the half-devout, half-life local plateau atmosphere, and experience the real daily life of Lhasa residents. Excellent service and a stress-free family trip from start to finish

This 11-day private tour through Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou was one of the most enjoyable family trips we have ever taken. What really stood out for us was the service from start to finish. Jennifer was our main contact from Buer China Travel and she was absolutely fantastic. She responded quickly to every message, patiently adjusted the itinerary multiple times based on our preferences, and always made us feel like everything was under control. It really gave us peace of mind before even arriving in China. During the trip, everything ran smoothly. There were no stressful moments at all. Our guide was extremely kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. She had a wonderful way of explaining the history behind each site without making it feel like a lecture, and she was especially good with our children, which made a huge difference for our family. We also appreciated how flexible the itinerary was. We never felt rushed, and we had enough time to truly enjoy each destination, whether it was walking along West Lake in Hangzhou or exploring the classical gardens in Suzhou. Overall, this was a very well-organized and thoughtfully designed trip. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting China for the first time.
